Every Cachet blind starts as a measurement in your home and a roll of fabric in our Kitchener workshop. Because we handle every step ourselves, from the first visit to the final adjustment, we can control the details that decide whether a custom blind looks and works the way it should.

Here is what happens between booking a consultation and closing your new blinds for the first time.

Key takeaways

  • One team measures, manufactures and installs, so there is a single point of responsibility.
  • Every shade is cut to the millimetre in our workshop at 30 Manitou Drive, Kitchener.
  • Each blind is checked before it leaves the workshop and again after installation.
  • Most projects take about two weeks from measurement to installation.

Step 1: In-home consultation and measuring

We visit your home with fabric samples and hardware options so you can compare them against your own windows and light. Then we measure every opening: width at the top, middle and bottom, height on both sides and in the centre, and the depth of the frame. We also note obstacles such as handles, cranks and trim that affect how a blind should be mounted.

Step 2: A clear written quote

You receive a written quote that lists each window, the product, fabric and control type. There are no surprise add-ons at installation. If you want to compare options, such as a manual versus a motorized shade, we can quote both.

Step 3: Cutting and assembly in Kitchener

Once you approve the order, production starts in our workshop. Fabric is cut to the exact measurements for each window, and the rollers, headrails, bottom bars and control mechanisms are cut and assembled to match. Producing locally means we are not waiting on overseas production or shipping.

Step 4: Quality check

Before a blind leaves the workshop, we check the dimensions, the fabric for flaws, the alignment of the bands on zebra blinds and the smooth operation of every mechanism. Anything that is not right is fixed before it reaches your home.

Step 5: Professional installation

Our own installers mount each blind, level it, set the limits on rolling shades and show you how everything works, including remotes and apps for motorized blinds. We clean up and take the packaging with us.

Step 6: Support after installation

If anything needs adjusting later, you call the people who built it. Being local means we can visit, adjust or repair a blind without sending parts overseas.
